Volunteer Spotlight

“I was a lost woman in the middle of a divorce when I came in to volunteer at “Fresh Start Treasures” resale boutique. What I have gained are friendships with the nicest staff members and volunteers. From day one I felt appreciated by not only the staff and my fellow volunteers, but also by the customers as they shop thru the store’s “treasures”.
I work on the floor of the shop, assisting our shoppers, straightening the store, and putting items out. It is such a treat when a new customer walks in the store and they are so surprised how nicely the store is arranged. lt is definitely not your typical resale store. It is beautiful, clean, and full of great finds. Customers are amazed at what an awesome assortment of goods we offer from our generous donators. When I explain to them the mission of the Fresh Start Women’s Foundation of helping women to empower themselves, and that all proceeds go to the foundation, it brings a smile to my face and my customers. The only unfortunate aspect of my job is that I find way too many treasures to purchase! It is a rare day when I do not find something I must have. Thank goodness I am only there one day a week!”
Deborah Zamora was directed to come into Fresh Start Treasures in hopes of finding the perfect outfit for an upcoming interview. Sherri (our volunteer spotlight gal for the month) helped put the entire outfit together. Deborah was thrilled and felt very confident when she left the store for her job interview.
